In the 1960's, three Israeli operatives are sent to Germany to find and return for trial a doctor who committed heinous experiments on holocaust victims. Great suspense thriller movie. The story is delightfully well written. I never felt lost in the story while experiencing the few flashback and flash forward moments. It's not one of those action packed thrillers. However, it is packed with suspense. The characters were written and portrayed wonderfully.

Apollo 18
Ok, before I say what I think of this movie, let me describe the events in the theater as I watched. First, the theater was curiously empty. Before the film started about 8-9 people inside, including myself and date. Then 10 minutes as the movie started another 10 people started to filter in (maybe even movie hop in). Ok. After 30 min, people started leaving. After 40 min, I would say the audience had dwindled back to approximately 10 people. Some people were ever shaking their heads while leaving. I looked around 3 of the 10 remaining were sleeping, including my date.
The movie is about 3 astronauts of an expedition with never before seen footage. Very Blair Witch style camera. No need to worry much of blurry camera (for those who are motion sick) because there's not much gravity. The people move pretty slow. Although there were flashy lights that an epileptic might want to be forewarned of.
My impression: DO NOT SEE! I can't believe this movie was allowed out of production into theaters for the public. A waste of film. It's not even worth seeing on DVD. Big waste of time.

Planet of the Apes
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie! Best movie for me for Summer 2011. It's the prequel to the other Planet of the Apes films. I was not disappointed. I found myself rooting for the apes as opposed to humans. I liked the acting and story. Very much worth seeing in theaters and I can't wait for the next installment.

Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark
I found this movie ok. I liked the dark and the minuscule ominous feel to the movie but I kept reminiscing on elements of the movie being similar to the movie: The Gate. I understand this is a remake of the 1973 version with the same name. I felt little girl's terror but I think the detachment of the father could've been portrayed a little better. I'm a huge fan of Guillermo del Toro's other work. I understand he co-wrote and produced this one. I was expecting a bit more creepy and suspenseful. Maybe if thus movie had a more R rated feel to it, I would have liked it more. In the end, I would've been fine watching it at home.

Hippie - Joke
A Hippie sits next to a nun on the bus and asks her if he could have sex with her, she said "NO! i am married to god!!" and gets off the bus disgusted. The bus driver said "she prays every Tuesday night at midnight in the grave yard, why don't you dress up in a hooded robe go to the grave yard tell her you are god and demand sex?" The hippie tries this and to his surprise the nun said "yes but only if we have anal sex as i want to keep my virginity" They have passionate bum sex and when they are done the hippie throws off his robe and cries" ha ha" I'm the hippie! The nun cries out "ha ha" i'm the bus driver!

Halloween '10
I tried visiting Baruch on Halloween but the security was strict and hour after practice started, he wouldn't let anyone in. I was with my bf and wanted to show him in person how I used to shoot. Afterwards, we went to an all Asian bar Halloween party. It was totally unexpected for us. We had no idea that it was going to be so singularly racial. My friend who invited me assured me that there would be a good mix. Definitely felt like the odd ones out from the 40+ people and we're the only 2 non-Asian folks. X_x My bf was a little disappointed but when we left, he had more fun watching a couple fight break out, where the girl punched her bf in the face and his shocked expression was priceless. He even looked at us. We didn't know what to do but just see if she would go at it again but she was definitely drunk and hailed a cab. My bf says he didn't think this was the first time that this couple fought with fists. Very amusing for the rest of the night.

Big Apple vs. New York Comic Cons
Another post that mobile to Xanga.com didn't publish:
Mansing: What's the diff [between Big Apple Comic Con and New York Comic Con]?
Good question
I'll let u know
Big Apple small and boring
There were actual old retired porn and playboy stars there.
And they charge you for each photo like $25 for celebrities.
You can even walk on the floor with the celebrities with your camera out unless you pay for each photo with a star u shoot
Adam west, his girlfriend Robin was there
Lee Majors
Some old wrestlers
The Knicks cheerleaders
Xander from Buffy. And Spike doing his own concert (launching his music career, it would seem). And the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld. All these has beens charging money for each photo. No ones going to remember them late, so who cares!!!
So NY comic con will be better since it will be my 3rd time going. Last year they didn't hold one. They gave out free bowling.

What is wrong with me! -_-
Old message that mobile to Xanga.com never sent though:
Right now, I'm a bit crazed. Had to spend some money toward gifts and getting all dolled up for a friends wedding. I'm thinking my light bill check may bounce and after all this preparation for tonight, I might be able to go. It all boils down to a totally last minute decision of whether my boyfriend will make it, be able to rent a car and finally pick me up to drive to the wedding. Initially I thought he would rent the car early in the day, go to work, then drive home, get dressed and drive to pick me up. I even volunteered to meet by him to minimize time. Now he wants to experiment with renting by hours with Zip car and go to work, pay a cab to his house, get dressed, pay a cab to the Zip car in his location and then drive to pick me up, get to the wedding party 3 hours late (I suspected it would've been at most 2 hours late) and then spend 2 hours there and drive back, drop me off and return the car. Only spending $75 total. I'm very pissed that he's deciding to skimp on money now of all times, when its something that I've been telling him I wanted to do for a months now, back in July. He even asked if we could just not go now. After the fact that I chipped in money to help pay for the suit he would wear.
I'm not even sure I want to take next Wednesday off for my birthday (his suggestion) because he may not even get the day off to spend it with me.
I just can't make plans. Anytime I try, I feel like I'm failing. When I ask about doing something, he gives me a positive statement about it, making me think he wants to do it and then when I plan around it, I'm shot down. I hate this. I shouldn't even bother anymore. Just plan for myself, I guess. I thought I was being helpful.
